Combine Mayan history at Tulum Mexico, the only archeological zone in the area overlooking the ocean (believed to have been the largest port for the Mayans) with the natural beauty of Xel-ha Mexico, a natural aquarium which is ideal for snorkeling.

Go directly from your hotel to the Mayan ruins of Tulum and then to Xel-ha Mexico or just to Xel-ha if you prefer (select which tour you prefer below).

Private tours are for your group only; you plan the day, I just make suggestions. Private tours will save your family about 2.5 hrs compared to the public tour.

Xel-ha hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm and the drive takes about 90 minutes each way. Tulum opens at 8am. If you choose ONLY Xel-Ha we skip Tulum completely.

Both tours include Xel-ha All Inclusive: all food from 5 restaurants and ice cream shop, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), towels, lockers & snorkeling equipment.

Deposit for snorkel equip, towel, locker required at Xel-Ha $20 USD per person.

Itinerary:

Pick up time is up to you, 7-8 AM works well
I suggest going to Tulum first, then to Xel-ha. Just tell the driver which you prefer
In Tulum you can hire a guide for around $30 usd for a 90 minute tour or just explore the ruins on your own. 2 hrs in Tulum is plenty of time
Then go to Xel-Ha where you can swim/snorkel, float down the lazy river, walk through the jungle, eat, drink or relax in a hammock.

Note: The price per adult drops when there are more adults in your group. That's because we have a fixed cost to pay all the tolls, driver, etc. Use the red numbers to figure the price per ADULT. Kid prices remain the same, regardless of number of adults. Kids 40" - 55" tall receive the child price shown in orange. Kids under 40" (1 meter) are free. 10 people max per vehicle.

FAQ:

Can I save a bit by taking a Public Tour with other tourists?
Yes, money but not time! Our public tours are $99 p/adult for Tulum/Xel-ha or $95 for only Xel-Ha.

What should we bring?
Walking shoes that might get wet, a hat, camera, extra t-shirt, biodegradable sun screen, sunglasses, swim suit, money for shopping and tips. Deposit for snorkel equip, towel, locker required at Xel-Ha $20 USD per person.

What kind of vehicle do we get? Does it have seats, insurance?
All vehicles have a/c. If you are less than 4 adults or a family of 4 we use a car and for 4 adults or more we use a van. The van holds 10 passengers. ALL passengers must have a seat belt. Therefore if you are 9 adults & 2 children you would need 2 vehicles. Vehicles must have Federal highway insurance & passenger insurance by law. If we are caught without it they take the vehicle. I can't speak for all companies but, the price of insurance is nothing compared to losing your vehicle.

Is there a deposit? What are the cancellation policies?
Yes we need a deposit of 20% and the cancellation policy is before 12 noon the day before the trip. WHY? Because we need to book the vehicle for the day. If we wait till 3 pm the day before to cancel the vehicle will have lost out doing services the next day. That is not fair to us or the driver who lives on tips. If cancelled in time, a full refund will be issued that day. I have the most flexible policy in Cancun PLUS you do not pre-pay in full. Cancellation Policy.

Do we go to a check in area first?
No. You are picked up from your hotel and taken directly to the Tulum or Xel-ha entrance gates and dropped off at your hotel lobby on the way back.

Who do we pay the balance to?
Directly to the driver on the day of the tour in CASH ONLY. If you want to pay more than the 20% down payment today, please go ahead and send me an e-mail letting me know you have. I do ask for 3% sur-fee to cover my credit card expense for payments in full.
